Capturing Your: Heart

IMG_6876-copy-copyThe last few weeks have been just a blur. I was able to take some time to visit with our family in California and take a break from the day to day responsibilities (ok, that’s just a partial truth….hehe). So this wee little blog has been full of neglect with just a bunch of sneak peeks. I am happy to jump back on board with this super special family! Last May, I completed my first year as a photographer and now I am enjoying some repeat families. Last winter, I was invited to take pictures of these two precious boys just weeks after they were born. They went from being little baldies, to have full heads of hair, from cooing to giggling, from being completely immobile to crawling….all within a few months! I love seeing how much children change within the first year and even though you anticipate those changes, they are always such a shock to actually observe. I commend Marcus and Halle for raising such beautiful children, making those tough sacrifices and applaud them for doing twice the amount of work with twins…and a active toddler! You both are truly amazing and the proof is your three beautiful and healthy children. So once again, enjoy the pictures of this beautiful family! Thanks again for letting me be a part of your morning….even though it was early for Marcus and I :)

Here’s the sweet and beautiful Miss Aiden! She Aiden has the most beautiful piercing blue eyes and was a total ham for the camera. My lucky day!IMG_6904-copyIMG_6920-copy IMG_6922-copy IMG_6928-copy IMG_6941

Meet Mr. Ryan! Ryan could go from serious to giggles in nano seconds….and I just LOVE his precious little giggles!  IMG_6970-copy IMG_6997-copyIMG_6998-2SidebysideSlattery

Meet Ryan’s partner in crime, Mr. Ronin. He’s definitely a daddy’s boy, very active and enjoys being roughed around. That a boy!IMG_7052-copyIMG_7077 IMG_7100-copy IMG_7116-copyIMG_7128-copy

The boys were just fascinated with their reflections in their daddy’s sunglasses. I love the following pictures!IMG_7143-copy IMG_7146-copy IMG_7151-copy IMG_7155-copy IMG_7176 IMG_7244-copy

Ronin is fearless! He definitely enjoys an adrenaline rush! I thoroughly enjoyed watching Marcus roughing him up!IMG_7253-copy IMG_7257-copy IMG_7283-copy

Annnnnd…we’re done! IMG_7288-copy

  I LOVE Ryan’s expression…it’s priceless!IMG_7291

Sneak Peek

Ok, I promise I am not just going to be posting sneak peeks! I am trying to catch up from my time off in California and the photo shoots that I had pending…as well as keep up with the photo shoots that I have booked. I am so excited to have so many fun sessions coming up in the next few weeks! Here a sneak peek from my senior session tonight with Courtney. She’s beautiful!!

Nope, I didn't fall off the earth....more like I've been blending in with the millions that live in L.A for the past week. If you've been following my blog, you would recall that my youngest brother David was diagnosed with cancer this past month. He just started his first round of chemo therapy this past week, so our family flew out to be with him during his first treatment. My husband flew back to our home to hold down the fort while we stay here for a few more days. We've loved every minute of our time here and are so grateful that we have the ability to fly back and forth. So, pardon my little break...I will resume my blogging upon my return. It's a good thing I don't have access to LR or photoshop to convert my RAW images or else my mind wouldn't be able to focus completely on the REASON why we flew out here in the first place. Since blog posts are always better with a picture, here's one of my son Travis. He actually asked me to take the picture of him.....without asking for a treat in return! WOW!!!

Capturing Your: Heart

Family photo shoots can be so unpredictable. I typically go to a family photo shoot with a list of shots that I’d like to take and make sure that I also get the shots that the family is seeking. By the time I get to the shoot, the list is thrown out the window and I am just going with the flow since kids typically dictate what the agenda is going to look like. This time, the sprinklers dictated what the agenda was going to look like. As I was taking their family picture near a beautiful water fall, all of a sudden we hear “tsk tsk tsk tsk” followed by some rapid “tsk! tsk! tsk! tsk! tsk!, so we look up and see the sprinklers shooting water RIGHT into our direction. We all jump up as fast as we can, grab our stuff…annnnd the kids…and RUN in the opposite direction….only to discover that the sprinklers just popped out in the direction we were now running into. Soooo..that is how this photo shoot began and I am so grateful that it was with friends, not someone I just met for the first time :) Seriously, what city runs their sprinkler systems at 10 AM on a Sunday morning? Apparently the one park that we went to…err! That definitely broke the ice and we definitely got a good laugh out of that! I am so glad that Mike and Michelle are so down to earth and didn’t let a little water ruin their experience. So here’s a look at the rest of the photo shoot and luckily we didn’t get flushed out of our photo spots!
